Kevin Mambo Joins Mike Epps, Zoe Saldana in Nina Simone Biopic

Kevin Mambo — known for his acclaimed performance as Fela Kuti in the Broadway musical Fela — will join Zoe Saldana and Mike Epps in the upcoming Nina Simone biopic Nina, according to the website BlackFilm.com.
Saldana, who appeared in the films Avatar and Star Trek, will play the title role, with Epps as late comedian Richard Pryor. Mambo, currently starring in the national tour of The Book of Mormon, will play Gille, a French guitarist and member of Simone’s band.
Written and directed by Cynthia Mort, Nina will explore the life of the late jazz legend. Filming has already begun in Los Angeles.
