Woody Harrelson, Martin Sheen to Wake Up to September Morn

Stage and screen stars Woody Harrelson and Martin Sheen will headline the new 9/11 drama, September Morn, according to Deadline.com.

The script, by Howard Cohen, centers on the independent investigation into the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. B.J. Davis will direct. Ed Asner, currently appearing on Broadway in Grace, and Daniel Sunjata, another Broadway veteran, will also be in the cast, as will John Heard, Esai Morales, and Judd Nelson.

Harrelson was most recently represented Off-Broadway as director and co-author of Bullet for Adolf. He is perhaps best known from his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Woody Boyd on the television series Cheers, starred in The Rainmaker and Biloxi Blues on Broadway. In the West End, he has appeared in On An Average Day and The Night of the Iguana. The actor has received Oscar nominations for his work in The Messenger and The People Vs. Larry Flynt.

Sheen is best known for his Emmy Award-winning work on NBC’s The West Wing. On Broadway he received a Tony Award nomination for his work in the original The Subject Was Roses. His many other stage credits include The Crucible, Death of a Salesman, Julius Caesar, and a revival of The Subject Was Roses in Los Angeles.
