Adam Chanler-Berat and More to Join Phillipa Soo in Amélie, A New Musical

The musical will play its Los Angeles engagement this winter.

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming Ahmanson Theatre run of Amélie, A New Musical, starring Hamilton Tony nominee Phillipa Soo in the title role.

Soo will be joined by (in alphabetical order) Emily Afton, Alyse Alan Louis, David Andino, Randy Blair, Heath Calvert, Adam Chanler-Berat, Alison Cimmet, Savvy Crawford, Manoel Felciano, Harriett D. Foy, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Tony Sheldon, Jacob Keith Watson, and Paul Whitty.

Based on the Academy Award-nominated French film, the show features a book by Tony nominee Craig Lucas (An American in Paris), music by Daniel Messé of the band Hem, and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting) and Messé. It is directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon and choreographed by Sam Pinkleton. It had its world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in 2015.

The production features scenic and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Jane Cox and Mark Barton, sound design by Kai Harada, projection design by Peter Nigrini, musical direction by Kimberly Grigsby, vocal arrangements by Grigsby and Messé, and orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin.
