Variety reports that stage veterans Dan Stevens and Anne Hathaway will costar in the upcoming sci-fi film Colossal, also set to feature Jason Sudeikis, Tim Blake Nelson, and Austin Stowell.

The story follows a woman (Hathaway) who moves back to her hometown after losing her New York City job and boyfriend. She soon discovers that she is strangely connected to a giant creature that has materialized over Seoul and is wreaking havoc on the city. Stevens will play the ex-boyfriend who fights to win her back. The film is currently in production in Vancouver. Nacho Vigalondo writes and directs.

Stevens, best known for his role as Matthew Crawley in the British drama television series Downton Abbey, made his Broadway debut opposite Jessica Chastain in a 2012 revival of The Heiress. Hathaway, who received an Oscar for her performance in the film version of Les Misérables, recently starred in the Public Theater production of George Brant's solo drama Grounded.
