The Little Mermaid Set to Begin Performances at La Mirada Theatre

La Mirada Theatre and McCoy Rigby Entertainment will present Disney's The Little Mermaid beginning tonight and running through June 26 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. The production, the fifth and final show of La Mirada's 2015-16 season, features direction by Glenn Casale, musical direction by Colin R. Freeman, and choreography by John MacInnis.

With music by Alan Menkcn, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and book by Doug Wright, The Little Mermaid is set in a magical kingdom beneath the sea where the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. Based on Hans Christian Anderson's story and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid features beloved songs including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World."

The cast for The Little Mermaid includes Alison Woods as Ariel, Melvin Abston as Sebastian, Adam Garst as Flounder, Fred Inkley as King Triton, Eric Kunze as Prince Eric, Tracy Lore as Ursula, Jeff Skowron as Chef Louis, Jamie Torcellini as Scuttle, Scott T. Leiendecker as Flotsam, Jeffrey Christopher Todd as Jetsam, and Time Winters as Grimsby. Ashley Anderson, Kim Arnett, Kristine Bennett, Marjorie Failoni, Melissa Glasgow, Devon Hadsell, Michael McGurk, Amanda Minano, Dennis O’Bannon, Marco Ramos, Aaron Ronelle, James Shackelford, Brian Steven Shaw, and Tro Shaw make up the ensemble.

The production features scenic design by Kenneth Foy, lighting design by Charlie Morrison, sound Design by Julie Ferrin, original soundscape Ddesign by Gareth Owen, and costume coordination and design by Amy Clark.
