Sara Bareilles, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and Tony-nominated composer of Broadway's Waitress, will sing at the Academy Awards ceremony this Sunday, February 26. Her performance will introduce the "In Memoriam" tribute honoring the motion picture talents lost in 2016. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC beginning at 7pm EST.

It was announced last week that beginning March 31, Bareilles will step into the leading role of Jenna in Waitress on Broadway for a 10-week run through June 11. She replaces the musical's original star Jessie Mueller, who plays her final performance on March 26.

Inspired by Adrienne Shelley's 2007 motion picture, Waitress features songs by Bareilles and a book by Jessie Nelson. It opened April 24 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
The current company features Eric Anderson (Cal), Charity Angél Dawson (Becky), Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Ogie), Drew Gehling (Dr. Pomatter), Caitlin Houlahan (Dawn), Dakin Matthews (Joe), William Popp (Earl), Cate Elefante, Thay Floyd, Henry Gottfried, Molly Hager, Aisha Jackson, Molly Jobe, Max Kumangai, Anastacia McClesky, Ella Dane Morgan, Jeremy Morse, Olivia Phillip, Stephanie Torns, and Ryan Vasquez.
