The full cast has been announced for the Malibu Stage Company production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, May 16-June 8. Written by Martin McDonagh, this production will be directed by Carmen Milito.
Set in a country cottage in a small Irish town called Leenane, the dark comedy is about a possessive mother and her spinster daughter. The cast will feature Linda DeMetrick, Robert Postrozny, Tyrone Power Jr., and Joan Benedict Steiger.
McDonagh received the 2006 Academy Award for his short film Six Shooter. He has been nominated for the Tony Awards for the plays The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Pillowman, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and The Lonesome West.
