Lindsey Haun will play the title character in the new musical Emily’s Song, to run January 9-February 27 at Hudson Backstage Theatre in Los Angeles. Chet Holmes will direct the production, which will feature music direction by Amanda Holmes.
The show, which has a book by Chet Holmes and features songs by him, as well as Amanda Holmes and Tom Shepard, focuses on a woman who struggles with grief throughout her life and who uses the tragedies that she experiences to fuel her songwriting career.
The company will also feature Tom Schmid, John Bingham, Cassidy Brown, Darcy Rose Byrnes, Zack Carter, Carmine Dibenedetto, Brian Duclos, Elena Campbell-Martine, Borlenghi Matthew and Jenny Weaver.
Haun plays Hadley Stackhouse on HBO’s True Blood. Among her other film and television credits are Village of the Damned, Shrooms, Broken Bridges, The Color of Friendship, Brave New Girl, and Get to the Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story.
The creative team will include Joel Daavid (production design), Diablo Sound/Drew Dalzell (sound design), and Shon LeBlanc (costume design).
