Round House Theater Announces 40th Anniversary Season Lineup

The Maryland-based organization will present ”In the Heights” and more.

Bethesda's Round House Theatre has announced the lineup for its 2017-18 season, the company's 40th anniversary year.

Round House will begin its new season with Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes' musical In the Heights, starring original cast member Robin De Jesús as Usnavi. Directed and choreographed by Marcos Santana, it will be presented as a coproduction with Olney Theatre Center and will be performed there September 6-October 1.

The season continues in Bethesda with the world premiere of Sarah Gancher’s I'll Get You Back Again, directed by Rachel Chavkin (October 4-29), and the regional premiere of Lauren Gunderson's The Book of Will, directed by Ryan Rilette (November 29-December 24). Moira Buffini's Handbagged follows, under the direction of Indhu Rubasingham (January 31-February 25).

The spring will see Athol Fugard's "Master Harold"…and the Boys, directed by Ryan Rilette (April 11-May 6), and Matthew Lopez's The Legend of Georgia McBride, directed by Tom Story (June 6-July 1).
