Performances are underway for the Round House Theatre production of the Tony Award-nominated Caroline, or Change from Tony Kushner (Angels in America) and Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home). Check out photos from the production, directed by Matthew Gardiner, in the gallery below.

Caroline, or Change follows a black maid working for a middle-class Jewish family in Louisiana. When a small amount of money goes missing, buried tensions threaten to rip two families — and the struggling Caroline — apart. Loosely based on Kushner’s provocative and personal story, Caroline, or Change's score blends blues, gospel, and traditional Jewish melodies together.

Nova Y. Payton leads the cast as Caroline. She is joined by Felicia Curry, Will Gartshore, Naomi Jacobson, Lawrence Redmond, Olivia Russell, Awa Sal Secka, Dorea Schmidt, Scott Sedar, Korinn Walfall, and Kara-Tameika Watkins.

The production team includes scenic designer Jason Sherwood, costume designer Frank Labovitz, lighting designer Grant Wilcoxen, and sound designer Fitz Patton.
