Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" — Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book — Avenue Q: School Edition is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart. The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Avenue Q authors created a Student Edition, maintaining the dramatic (and comedic) intention & integrity of the piece while making it more appropriate for younger audiences and performers. Joining the cast will be a full puppet ensemble!
This enchanting new play, developed at New York's renowned Public Theater and performed in Cuba, asks the question: Is it more dangerous to follow our desires or to bury them? Reiderico sneaks out of his house and spends his nights in the garden conspiring with a boy who lives at the bottom of a well, testing stormy waters between reality and the surreal.
By the author of Driving Miss Daisy, this Tony Award-winning play once again explores the lives of Jews in the American South. It is December of 1939. Gone With the Wind is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's upper-crust Freitag family is much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, Atlanta's Jewish cotillion and the social event of the season. The ensuing comedy proves both hilarious and thought-provoking as it touches on themes of assimilation, anti-Semitism, and change.
In the overwhelming quiet of the woods, six runaways from city life embark on a silent retreat. As these strangers confront internal demons both profound and absurd, their vows of silence collide with the achingly human need to connect. Filled with awkward humor, this strange and compassionate new play asks how we address life's biggest questions when words fail us.
