George Street Playhouse has announced casting for Christopher Demos-Brown's military drama American Hero, which is set to run January 30-February 25. George Street Playhouse artistic director David Saint will return to helm the play, which follows last season's American Son and a yet-to-be-titled new work by Mr. Demos-Brown as part of a trilogy exploring American injustice.

The show's cast will include George Street Playhouse veterans John Bolger and Armand Schultz as well as Broadway's Kally Duling (Fun Home) and Laiona Michelle (Amazing Grace).

In American Hero, an Iraq war hero's perfect life starts to unravel when a fellow veteran seeking justice shows up threatening to expose a hidden past. From the author of last season's American Son, the work is described as a "raw, gritty drama shines a light on how America honors its veterans, the corrupting effect of awards and commendations, and questions what it truly means to be a hero."
