Full Cast, Creative Team Set for Long Wharf’s Man of La Mancha

Full cast and creative team has been announced for the Long Wharf Theatre’s production of the classic Mitch Leigh-Dale Wasserman-Joe Darion musical Man of La Mancha, to run February 21-March 18. The production, which will open officially on February 28, will be directed by Charles Newell, who helmed the show last year at Chicago’s Court Theater.

The show will star Herbert Perry as Don Quixote/Miguel de Cervantes, Hollis Resnik as Aldonza, and Jim Corti as Sancho Panza. The cast will also feature Michael Berry, Brian Charles Rooney, Stephen Wallerm, Rena Strober, Lucia Spina, Benjamin Magnuson, Sean Black, Judas Macabeo, and Patrick McRoberts.

The creative team will feature Doug Peck (musical direction), John Culbert (sets), Jacqueline Firkins (costumes), Mark McCullough (lighting), and Joshua Horvath and Ray Nardelli (sound).

Perry is one the world’s foremost opera stars; his credits include the title role in the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Resnik’s many stage credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and A Streetcar Named Desire. Corti is best known for playing Harry Houdini in the Broadway production of Ragtime and Tateh in the show’s national tour.
