Nikki Renée Daniels and Lea Salonga will play the role of Fantine in the Broadway revival of Les Misérables after current star Daphne Rubin-Vega departs on February 18 to star in the LAByrinth Theatre Company’s production of Jack Goes Boating.

Daniels, who will play the role from February 20 to March 4, is currently a member of the show’s ensemble. Her other Broadway credits include Aida, Nine, The Look of Love, and Lestat.

Salonga will assume the role on March 6 and will continue through the end of the show’s announced run. She received the Tony Award, Olivier Award, Drama Desk Award, and Outer Critics Circle Award for her portrayal of Kim in Miss Saigon, and was most recently seen on Broadway in the revival of Flower Drum Song. In 1993, she took over the role of Eponine in the original Broadway production of Les Miz, and also played the part in London and Hawaii.
