On Tuesday, January 25, John Leguizamo and director Fisher Stevens met with members of the press to talk about Leguizamo’s new solo play Ghetto Klown, set to begin a 12-week run at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre on February 21.

In the work, Leguizamo takes audiences from his adolescent memories in Queens to the early days of his acting career during the outrageous 1980s avant-garde theater scene, and on to the sets of major motion pictures and his roles opposite some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

The show has had earlier incarnations in Philadelphia, New Haven, Santa Fe, Louisville, La Jolla, Berkeley, Toronto, and Montreal. A special version of the show, to be presented under the title John Leguizamo Warms Up, will play Chicago’s Royal George Theatre, February 1-12.
