Words! Words! Words! The Nightlife Awards are sick of words. Produced by Max Weintraub and Nightlife Awards creator Scott Siegel, the evening lauds itself as the only All-Performance Awards show where the traditional acceptance speech is shunned and the honorees perform to show us why they are so deserving of their newest accolade.

The 11th Annual Nightlife Awards will take place at The Town Hall on Monday, January 14 at 7pm. Tony Award-winning actress and long-time Broadway staple, Leslie Uggams (Thoroughly Modern Millie) will sing for her title of Nightlife Legend. Uggams will also perform on behalf of fellow Nightlife Awards honoree, the nightclub, 54 Below. Also set to perform for her award is jazz singer Catherine Russell, who will be recognized as an Outstanding Jazz Performer. Russell has released four jazz albums since 2006 (Cat, Sentimental Streak, Inside This Heart of Mine, and Strictly Romancin‘) to widespread acclaim.

The line-up for the 2013 performance roster includes Marilyn Maye (Her Own Kind of Broadway), James Barbour (A Tale of Two Cities), Carole J. Bufford (Trouble in Shameland), Lauren Fox (Love, Lust, Fear & Freedom: The Songs Of Joni Mitchell & Leonard Cohen), Mark Nadler (American Rhapsody), Emily Bergl (Becky Shaw), Jason Graae (Falsettos), Faith Prince (Billy Elliot), Julie Halston (Sex and the City), Jessica Kirson (My Cookie’s Gone), Bill Charlap (I’m Old Fashioned), Kate McGarry (Girl Talk), Jane Monheit (Home), as well as guest performances by Jim Caruso (Liza’s At The Palace!) and Rupert Holmes (Curtains). Emmy Award winner Bruce Vilanch will host this evening of performances.
