On Wednesday, February 16, former U.S. Congressman and frequent “Morning Joe” contributor Harold Ford, Jr. participated in a talkback following a performance of Broadway’s Driving Miss Daisy, at the Golden Theatre, and met with one of the production’s stars, two-time Tony Award winner James Earl Jones.

The play, which had its Off-Broadway debut in 1987, is written by Alfred Uhry and directed by David Esbjornson. It focuses on the relationship between Daisy Werthan, a 72-year-old Jewish widow living in mid-century Atlanta, and Hoke, her African-American chauffeur.

In addition to Jones as Hoke, the cast stars Tony winners Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines.
