The New Group’s Russian Transport Extends Through March 24

The New Group has announced an extension for its world premiere production of Erika Sheffer’s Russian Transport, which opened on January 30, will now play through March 24. The production was originally slated to close on March 10. Scott Elliott directs.

Russian Transport is a family drama set in the Russian Jewish community of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Diana and Misha run a struggling car service while trying to carve out the American Dream for their teenagers Alex and Mira, but when Diana’s mysterious brother Boris arrives to stay with them, family loyalty is tested.

As previously announced, the cast features Janeane Garofalo, Daniel Oreskes, Morgan Spector, Sarah Steele, and Raviv Ullman.

The design team includes Derek McLane (set design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), Ann Hould-Ward (costume design), and Bart Fasbender (sound design).
