Multi Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan and her husband, Cuban-American musician and producer Emilio Estefan (Miami Sound Machine), will turn their beat around to Broadway. They have announced a partnership with the Nederlander Organization to develop and produce a new Broadway musical based on their lives.

Gloria Estefan, the most successful crossover performer in the history of Latin music, was born in 1957 in Havana, Cuba. As a girl, she traveled with her family to Florida, to flee the Cuban Revolution. After graduating from the University of Miami, Estefan began dating the Miami Sound Machine’s band leader and her future husband, Emilio Estefan. Gloria joined the group, and as she gained popularity, she scored top billing. The band became Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, skyrocketing Gloria to the top of the charts. The upcoming musical will tell this story — of the Estefans’ journey from Cuba to superstardom.

“We are very excited to share this story, which is based on hope, determination and the belief that with hard work and passion, our dreams can become our reality,” said Gloria and Emilio in a statement.
