Avenue Q Tony Nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo Leads Cast of New Musical Greed

Subtitled “A Musical for Our Times,” ”Greed” will play New World Stages beginning in March.

Michael Roberts' Greed: A Musical for Our Times will play New World Stages beginning March 19, producers have announced. Christopher Scott directs the production, which features musical direction and arrangements by Steven Gross. The show is set to open April 3.

Featured in the company are Tony nominee Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q), alongside Julia Burrows (The Music Man), Neal Mayer (Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and James Donegan (Forbidden Broadway).

In the musical, Roberts uses controversial figures such as Bernard Madoff, Lance Armstrong, Jamie Dimon, and Pope Francis to explore the question of greed in contemporary society. Roberts is the author of Golf: The Musical and The Fartiste. Greed: A Musical for Our Times, presented by Eric Krebs, was originally produced by The Tank at the Playroom Theater.

The creative team includes Josh Iacovelli (scenic design), Dustin Cross (costume design), Joan Racho-Jansen (lighting design), and Raymond D. Schilke (sound design).
