Yiddish theater star and Broadway alum Fyvush Finkel (Fiddler on the Roof) makes his 54 Below debut with two shows, on March 14 and 15 — a fitting way for any Broadway lover to enjoy the Purim holiday.

Now 91 years old, Finkel began his career over 80 years ago, playing the numerous Jewish theaters along Second Avenue. His theater credits include the original off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors, both the original and 1981 revival Broadway productions of Fiddler on the Roof, and the 1989 Broadway production of Café Crown. Finkel is also well known for his Emmy-winning role as lawyer Douglas Wambaugh on the television series Picket Fences.

Finkel's two sons, xylophone virtuoso Ian Finkel and concert pianist Elliot Finkel, will accompany their father at his cabaret performances. Through songs and stories, the trio will offer an account of Finkel's extensive career, which has spanned both English and Yiddish roles.
