Flashback Friday: From Damn Yankees to Bronx Bombers, Broadway Has a Love/Hate Relationship With the Hometown Team

Remembering Broadway’s earlier (much, much sillier) tribute to baseball.

Before Bronx Bombers portrayed the heroism of the Yankee greats, Damn Yankees showed the beloved New York team in a rather different light. In the classic musical, the Yankees are a team so despicable that Shoeless Joe From Hannibal, Mo. is willing to sell his soul just to break the team's winning streak. Here's a very silly song from the musical that has nothing to do with the plot (and uses very few actual words).
