Choreographer Sergio Trujillo is currently in Amsterdam, collaborating on a new concept for the European production of the Disney musical Tarzan, which opened on Broadway last year to largely negative reviews.

“I am truly honored to be working with Disney,” said Trujillo. “Tarzan is a wonderfully inventive show, and I look forward to moving the characters and story in new and different ways.”

Best known for his work on the smash-hit Jersey Boys, Trujillo has also choreographed such shows as Broadway’s All Shook Up and the City Center Encores! productions of Kismet and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. He recently helped launch the first national tour of Jersey Boys and will be on hand for the numerous national and international rollout productions.

Among his other credits are the new musical Zhivago and a re-imagining of The Wiz, both at the La Jolla Playhouse and both in collaboration with Jersey Boys director Des McAnuff. In addition, Trujillo has been named as director-choreographer of a new Broadway musical based on the life of Carmen Miranda.
