Hudson, Williams, Wilson, et al. Win NAACP Image Awards

Jennifer Hudson, Vanessa Williams, and Chandra Wilson were among the winners of the 38th Annual NAACP Image Awards, which were given out last night. The ceremony was hosted by LL Cool J.

Hudson was named Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Dreamgirls; she had already won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for her portrayal of Effie White.

Williams, who has starred on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Into the Woods, was named Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Ugly Betty. which was named Best Comedy Series. Wilson, who co-starred on Broadway in Caroline, or Change was named Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Grey’s Anatomy.

Other winners included actors Isaiah Washington, Forest Whitaker, Djimon Honsou, and Keke Palmer, politican (and presidential candidate) Barack Obama, musicians Prince and Bono (the latter receiving the Chairman’s Award), and CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien.
