Women’s Project to Honor Eve Ensler, Announces New Plays

The Women’s Project will honor playwright Eve Ensler, philanthropist Kathy Hilton, and fashion designer Vivienne Tam at its 22nd Annual Women of Achievement Gala, to be held on Monday, March 12 at the Rainbow Room.

In related news, the Women’s Project has just appointed Julie Crosby to be its Producing Artistic Director. She has been at the helm of the organization, under the title of Producing Director, since last September. She has spent over two decades as theatrical manager and producer, working on such productions as On Golden Pond, The Good Body, and Urinetown.

The Women’s Project ‘s next production will be Lear deBessonet’s transFigures, April 6-May 6 at the Julia Miles Theater. The play is inspired by the Jerusalem Syndrome, a well-documented psychosis that affects ordinary tourists in Israel who find themselves channeling Biblical figures.

From May 14-19, the Project will present Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$, a collection of free, site-specific short plays on the theme of women and wealth, to take place at the World Financial Center.
