On Tuesday, the cast of the Broadway production of the musical Rock of Ages met the press. Here are the show’s stars: Mitchell Jarvis, Amy Spanger, James Carpinello, and Constantine Maroulis.
Later in the day on Tuesday, Tony Award winner Sutton Foster got her own caricature at Sardi’s. Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, who wrote the book to Foster’s current show Shrek: The Musical, was on hand for the big event.
Foster’s co-star Christopher Sieber, who plays Lord Faarquaad, was also at the event.
On Wednesday night, the Roundabout Theatre Company officially opened its production of Lisa Loomer’s Distracted, starring Tony winner Cynthia Nixon.
Here are Josh Stamberg, who plays Nixon’s husband, and director Mark Brokaw.
Matthew Gumley, who previously starred in Mary Poppins, portrays the play’s “distracted” child, Jesse.
Broadway veteran Peter Benson plays a variety of roles in the show.
Lisa Emery, Aleta Mitchell, Natalie Gold, Mimi Lieber, and Shana Dowdeswell make up the remainder of the show’s superb cast.
On Thursday, the National Corporate Theatre Fund held a special panel discussion and luncheon. Among the panelists were Charlotte St. Martin, executive director of the Broadway League, producer Robert Nederlander Jr., and actress Kelli O’Hara, who is temporarily departing Lincoln Center’s production of South Pacific due to her pregnancy.
Also on the panel were Michael Cerveris, who’s currently starring in the Roundabout’s revival of Hedda Gabler; composer Alan Menken, whose newest show Sister Act, opens this spring in London; and actor Matt Cavenaugh, who is playing Tony in the current Broadway revival of West Side Story.
