On Wednesday, March 2, the cast of Tony Kushner’s The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism With a Key to the Scriptures met with members of the press to talk about the play. It will be seen in a co-production with Signature Theatre at the Public Theater, March 22-June 12. Michael Greif will direct the production.
The work takes place in the summer of 2007, as Gus Marcantonio, a retired longshoreman, summons his children to the family’s Brooklyn brownstone for a series of shocking announcements.
The cast features Michael Cristofer (Gus), Linda Emond (Empty), Michael Esper (Eli), Steven Pasquale (Vinny), Stephen Spinella (Pill), and Bruce MacVittie (Adam), as well as K. Todd Freeman, Hettienne Park, Molly Price, Danielle Skraastad, and Brenda Wehle.
