Esteban Oliver, who recently played Zazu in the Madrid production of Disney's The Lion King, will make his Broadway debut in the role at the Minskoff Theatre beginning April 1.

"Spanish audiences wholly embraced his hilarious performance in Madrid, and it is a testament to the incredible talent in the Madrid production that one of its leading actors will now be a part of the flagship Broadway production," said Ron Kollen, the Senior Vice President for Disney Theatrical Productions International, in a statement.

Oliver, whose Spanish theater credits include the roles of Ambrose in Hello, Dolly!, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, and Roger and Franz in The Producers, will become the first Spanish musical theater actor to perform the same leading role in both the Spanish and Broadway productions of a show. To celebrate his bilingualism, he will incorporate certain Spanish-language surprises into the character.
