Emily Skinner, who received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the 1997 musical Side Show, will direct the next concert in the “Broadway by the Year” series, The Broadway Musicals of 1955. The one-night-only event will be held at 8pm on Monday, May 2 at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).

“Emily is a veteran of the series,” said TheaterMania’s Scott Siegel, the creator-producer-writer-host of “Broadway by the Year.” “She has performed in three of our shows and understands what the series is all about. She’s creative and delightful to work with. I’m sure she’ll bring something special to the Town Hall stage.”

Scheduled to perform in the concert — which will include songs from Damn Yankees, Silk Stockings, Plain and Fancy, Ankles Aweigh, and other shows — are Dee Hoty, Patti Cohenour, Liz Larsen, Sal Viviano, Justin Bohon, Raymond Jaramillo McLeod, Connie Pachl, and Shannon Lewis. “There will be music presented from eight different musicals that opened on Broadway in 1955, including the famous Carol Channing flop known as The Vamp,” Siegel continued. “And we’ll be doing one number from The Shoestring Revue that I think will really surprise the audience. It’s called ‘Garbage.’ ”

Tickets are priced at $40 and $45; they may be purchased by visiting the Town Hall box office, by calling 212-840-2824, or by clicking here.
