Michael Laurence, whose solo show Krapp, 39 has been extended at the SoHo Playhouse through May 31, has been cast in the Broadway production of Desire Under the Elms, as an understudy for the characters of Simeon and Peter, and in the non-speaking walk-on role of the Sheriff.

Krapp, 39 is inspired by Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape and deals with an actor examining his own quixotic life on his 39th birthday. It has set a new performance schedule of Thursday-Sunday at 5PM; Sunday and Monday 7:30PM, which will allow Laurence to perform in both shows.

Laurence’s recent New York credits include Two Rooms, Opus, and Talk Radio; his other stage credits include The Rainmaker and Humpty Dumpty.
