Frog and Peach Theatre Company’s upcoming production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to be presented April 26 to May 20 at West End Theater will have a musical score by Ian McDonald of King Crimson and Foreigner, in collaboration with Ted Zurkowski of the contemporary Country/Rock band Honey West.

The adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Lynnea Benson, is meant to resemble life in a celebrity couple’s entourage. The production imagines Oberon and Titania as the highest stars you could see on a weekend in New York. They are revered, but petty, earthy and accessible: fighting over human things. They, their fairies and Puck make up an entourage. Everybody wants a fairy’s job, but actually it’s a horrible position being a star’s assistant.

This is McDonald’s second Shakespearean score. He provided music for a celebrity reading of Hamlet presented at the Players Club in February which was a benefit for this production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

This production will feature the following actors: Ilaria Amadasi, Alan Altschuler, Lenny Ciotti, Treasure Davidson, Kyla D’Souza, Brian Devera, Eric Doss, David Elyha, Erick Gonzalez, Robert Gonyo, Fraziska Huber, Nozomi Kawaguchi, Vivien Landau, Amy Frances Quint, Stephen Siano, Jack Sochet, Alexandra Poncelet Del Sol, Simon Vargas, Marcus Watson, and Jonathan Reed Wexler.

Additional creative team members include set design by Ana Milosevic, lighting design by Leo Malkin, costume design by Asa Benally, and movement by Tom Knutson.
