After Midnight Serenades Harvey Fierstein on the Opening Night of His Play Casa Valentina

The “3Peat” sign in the background is a reference to Harvey’s three currently running Broadway shows.

Broadway bigwig Harvey Fierstein's new play Casa Valentina opened at Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre last night. In celebration of the event, the show's neighbors at After Midnight presented Fierstein with a rendition of the Duke Ellington classic "It Don't Mean a Thing." Performers Rosena M. Hill Jackson, Carmen Ruby Floyd, and Bryonha Marie Parham sang the tune in front of a sign reading "3Peat" — a reference to the prolific writer's three shows currently running on Broadway: Casa Valentina, Newsies, and Kinky Boots. This video of the event shows a moment of Broadway camaraderie at its finest.
