Classic Stage Company to Celebrate Playwright Caryl Churchill in First Look Festival

Churchill’s dramas, including ”Cloud Nine” and ”Mad Forest”, will be read in one-night-only productions.

Classic Stage Company's annual First Look Festival of one-night-only staged readings will celebrate the work of Caryl Churchill, the organization has announced. Churchill's dramas Cloud Nine, Mad Forest, and Fen will be read throughout the month of April.

The festival will begin April 7 with Cloud Nine, directed by Tyne Rafaeli. Set to star in the production are Tina Benko, Blair Brown, Jordan Dean, Jason Butler Harner, Taylor Mac, Elizabeth Marvel, and Steven Rattazzi.

On April 14, Annika Boras and Ari Brand will perform Mad Forest, directed by Anna Brenner.

The final reading, Fen, will be directed by Osh Jones on April 28 and star Rebecca Hall and Elizabeth Marvel.

CSC's current season opened with Romeo and Juliet and continued with The Last Two People on Earth and A Man's a Man. The season concludes with David Ives' The Heir Apparent, currently running under the direction of John Rando.
