Musicals Tonight! Will Present The Boy Friend, Roberta, et al.

Musicals Tonight! has announced the shows that will be presented as part of its 10th season. All performances will take place at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre (2162 Broadway). For more information, visit www.musicalstonight.org.

The Boy Friend (September 25-October 7)
Sandy Wilson’s fond look back at musical theater of the 1920s includes such songs as “Won’t You Charleston With Me?” and “I Could Be Happy With You.”

Naughty Marietta (October 9-21)
One of Victor Herbert’s most popular operettas; the score includes “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,” “Tramp! Tramp! Tramp!” and “Italian Street Song.”

Roberta (March 6-18)
This classic Jerome Kern-Otto Harbach musical features the hits “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” “The Touch of Your Hand,” and “Yesterdays.”

Half a Sixpence (April 1-13)
A musical based upon H.G. Wells’ novel Kipps, about a shop assistant who finds that money cannot buy happiness.

Paris (April 15-27)
This early Cole Porter musical concerns an American “blueblood” and an actress, whose marriage is happily thwarted by true love. The score includes two of Porter’s best-known songs, “Let’s Do It” and “Let’s Misbehave.”
