Christopher Lloyd, Mary Testa, and Cast of Off-Broadway’s Caucasian Chalk Circle Celebrate Opening Night

The Bertolt Brecht play closes out Classic Stage Company’s 45th anniversary season.

Classic Stage Company‘s off-Broadway production of Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle, directed by CSC Artistic Director Brian Kulick, opened on Thursday, May 29, and was commemorated with a post-performance get-together at the Second Avenue restaurant Pangea. Using a translation by James and Tania Stern (which features lyrics by poet W.H. Auden), the CSC revival stars multi-Emmy Award winner Christopher Lloyd (Taxi, Back to the Future) as Judge Azdak, with Tony Award nominees Elizabeth A. Davis (Once) and Mary Testa (Queen of the Mist) as Grusha and The Governor’s Wife, as well as Tom Riis Farrell, Jason Babinsky, Deb Radloff, and Alex Hurt in a variety of roles.
