The Public Theater production of Venice, a dystopian musical by Matt Sax and Eric Rosen, will begin performances on May 28.

Venice offered a preview of the new musical on Saturday, May 11 at Joe’s Pub. Directed by Rosen, with choreography by Chase Brock and additional music by Curtis Moore, the production will play the
Public Theater‘s Public Lab program from May 28-June 23.
With music that blends hip-hop, rock, and soaring anthems of love and hope, Venice, set in a not-too-distant future, follows a young man’s rise as he fights for what’s right against the backdrop of deceit and betrayal. Leading the company are Haaz Sleiman and Jennifer Damiano, along with Uzo Aduba, Jonathan-David, Claybourne Elder, Leslie Odom, Victoria Platt, Angela Polk, Matt Sax, Emilee Dupre, Semhar Ghebremichael, Devin Roberts, and Manuel Stark.
