Tony Nominees Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to Celebrate Dogfight CD Release with Joe’s Pub Concert

The composer and lyricist as well as several members of Second Stage Theatre’s Dogfight cast will also appear at a Barnes & Noble CD signing.

Tony-nominated composer and lyricist team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story) will celebrate the release of a cast album of their off-Broadway musical Dogfight with a special concert at Joe’s Pub on May 15. The concert will feature performances by the original cast of the Second Stage Theatre production as well as other special guests. In addition, Dogfight cast members Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena, and others will join Pasek and Paul at an in-store performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side on May 23.

Dogfight, which features a book by Peter Duchan, is based on the movie of the same name. It is set in 1963 and centers on a group of three young marines on the eve of their deployment to a small but growing conflict in Southeast Asia.

The full cast included Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Tony nominee Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots), Becca Ayers (The Addams Family), Steven Booth (Glory Days), Dierdre Friel (Leap of Faith), Adam Halpin (Glory Days), Lindsay Mendez (Godspell), James Moye (Million Dollar Quartet), Josh Segarra (Lysistrata Jones), Derek Klena (Carrie), and F. Michael Haynie.
