It has just been announced that A Year With Frog and Toad, the Tony-nominated family musical based on the Arnold Lobel stories about two amphibian friends, will end its Broadway run at the Cort Theatre on Sunday, June 15 after having played 15 previews and 73 regular performances.

The show opened at the Cort on April 13 following a successful engagement Off-Broadway at the New Victory Theatre last winter. The five-person cast consists of Jay Goede, Mark Linn-Baker, Frank Vlastnik, Danielle Ferland, and Jennifer Gambatese. A Year With Frog and Toad was directed by David Petrarca and choreographed by Daniel Pelzig, with music by Robert Reale and book and lyrics by Willie Reale, set design by Adrianne Lobel (Arnold Lobel’s daughter), costume design by Martin Pakledinaz, and lighting design by James F. Ingalls. Linda Twine is the show’s musical director.

In her review of the show for TheaterMania, Meredith Lee wrote: “With catchy songs, an energetic cast, and bright design elements, the musical has all the charm of the books on which it’s based. Just as Lobel’s stories have been happily shared by parents and their children, A Year With Frog and Toad is the type of musical that will appeal to theatergoers of all ages.”
