Michelle Williams of Dawson’s Creek fame will star with Jeremy Strong in a reading of Christopher Shinn’s new play The Coming World at 7pm on Monday, June 20 at the Ars Nova Theater (511 West 54th Street). Co-presented by The Underwood Theater and directed by Shinn, the reading is part of Ars Nova’s Free Out Loud series.

Williams’ role in the play is that of a young woman who, angry and confused over the suicide of her ex-boyfriend, seeks comfort and closure by forging a connection with his estranged twin brother. The actress’s New York stage credits include Killer Joe and Smelling a Rat; she will be seen later this year on the big screen in the eagerly anticipated Brokeback Mountain, which co-stars Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Shinn is the author of such plays as Where Do We Live (which earned him a 2005 Obie Award), What Didn’t Happen, On the Mountain, and Four. Admission to the reading of The Coming World is free but reservations must be made by phoning 212-977-1700.
