Vanessa Williams to Be Honored by Trevor Project at June 28 Gala

Vanessa Williams, currently starring on Broadway in Sondheim on Sondheim, will be honored by The Trevor Project at its 10th annual East Coast fundraising gala, to be held at Capitale in New York City, on Monday, June 28.

The Trevor Project is the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention efforts among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth. The gala will also honor Macy’s, Inc.

Celebrity guests are expected to include Dustin Lance Black, Mark Consuelos, Ardin Myrin, Ana Ortiz, and Kelly Ripa.

Williams received a Tony nomination for her performance in the revival of Into the Woods, and has also starred on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman, as well as the City Center Encores! production of St. Louis Woman. She received three consecutive Emmy Award nominations for her role as Wilhelmina Slater on ABC’s Ugly Betty, and is also a top-selling recording artist and a former Miss America. As previously reported, she will join the hit ABC series Desperate Housewives next season.
