Matthew James Thomas and Patrick Page, who respectively star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre, posed with Margaret Martinez, the latest individual to be honored as part of the musical’s “Everyday Heroes” initiative on Saturday, June 23.

Martinez started a summer camp in Yonkers to keep kids off the streets when school isn’t in session.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books. It follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.

The show features music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Julie Taymor, and a book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
