Donald Margulies Set to Write HBO’s Middlesex

Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies is set to adapt and co-produce HBO’s film version of Jeffrey Eugenides’ novel Middlesex, accordin to Variety.

The novel, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, traces the life and family history of 41-year-old Cal Stephanides, a hermaphrodite raised as Calliope and later “reborn” as Cal during his teenage years.

Margulies will be represented on Broadway this season by the New York premiere of Time Stands Still and a revival of Collected Stories. He won the Pulitzer for Dinner With Friends.
