The Book of Mormon stars Josh Gad, Nikki M. James, and Andrew Rannells signed autographs prior to a special July 1 fan performance of the Tony Award-winning musical, playing at the Eugene O’Neill Theater. The performance is being recorded for Lincoln Center’s Theatre on Film and Tape Archive.
Written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone and Avenue Q‘s Robert Lopez, the musical follows a pair of mismatched Mormon boys sent on a mission to a place that’s about as far from Salt Lake City as you can get.
The production is co-directed by Parker and Casey Nicholaw, who also serves as the production’s choreographer. Orchestrations are by Stephen Oremus. The production is the winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
