Jenifer Lewis and Marc Shaiman previewed Lewis’ July 24-28 engagement at 54 Below on Monday, July 23.

Lewis’ stage credits include Hairspray, Mother Courage, and Eubie. She has appeared in films including What’s Love Got to Do With It? and The Preacher’s Wife, and has previously served as one of Bette Midler’s Harlettes.

Shaiman, her accompanist, won the Tony Award for his work on Hairspray. His other credits include Catch Me If You Can, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, and the NBC drama series Smash.
