Annette Bening has just returned to the New York stage after more than 20 years. She now stars as Goneril opposite John Lithgow in the title role of The Public Theater's free Shakespeare in the Park production of King Lear at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Her last Big Apple performance was in 1988 in Broadway's Coastal Disturbances, and she earned a Tony nod for that performance. But Bening hasn't just been making movies like 1999's American Beauty, for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. She's also been keeping her theater legs in shape with shows around the country. Take a look at some of the stage productions the actress has performed in since her Broadway debut.
