Albee, Murray, Stoppard, et al. Will Celebrate London’s Royal Court

Edward Albee, Michael Allinson, Garry Hynes, Brian Murray, Tom Stoppard, and other notables will celebrate the 50th anniversary of London’s Royal Court Theatre at The Players Club in New York City (16 Gramercy Park South).

The week-long celebration will consist of five free readings directed by members of the Royal Court and featuring acclaimed actors: Arnold Wexler’s Roots (Sunday, September 10 at 2pm); John Osborne’s The Entertainer, starring Murray and Allinson (Monday, September 11 at 7:30pm); Conor McPherson’s The Weir (Tuesday, September 12 at 7:30pm); Caryl Churchill’s Cloud Nine (Wednesday, September 13 at 7:30pm); and Terry Johnson’s Insignificance (Friday, September 15 at 7:30pm). Reservations are required.

The festivities will conclude on Sunday evening, September 17 with “Pipe Night,” a long tradition of The Players Club that recognizes the best and brightest people working in theater. Albee, Hynes, and Stoppard are expected to attend this event, which includes cocktails, dinner, and entertainment. Tickets are priced at $95.
