Judy Gold’s 25 Questions For a Jewish Mother, which had a critically acclaimed run earlier this year at Ars Nova, will begin an open-ended Off-Broadway run at St. Luke’s Theatre on September 27. Co-written by Kate Moira Ryan and directed by Karen Kohlhass, the solo show will open officially on October 12.

In the 70-minute show, Gold shares anecdotes about her parenting of the two children she conceived with her former partner and discusses the results of interviews with Jewish women from around the country. For the Ars Nova run, Gold received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance. A book based on 25 Questions For a Jewish Mother will be released by Hyperion Books next May.

One of the country’s top comedians, Gold hosts HBO’s At the Multiplex with Judy Gold. She has also appeared in numerous specials for Comedy Central, Showtime, and HBO, and was featured in the film The Aristocrats. She is a two-time Emmy Award winner for writing and producing The Rosie O’Donnell Show.
