Megan Dodds will once again star in The Royal Court Theatre production of My Name Is Rachel Corrie, the controversial play taken from the writings of the 23-year-old American war protester who was killed in Israel, which will have a 48-performance run at the Minetta Lane Theatre, October 5-November 19. Directed by Alan Rickman and presented by Dena Hammerstein and Pam Pariseau, the show will open officially on October 15.

Rickman and writer Katharine Viner, features editor of the British newspaper The Guardian, edited Corrie’s diaries, letters, and e-mails for the play, which traces Corrie’s life from her early days in Washington to her experience as an activist in Gaza, where she was killed by a bulldozer. The show will feature set design by Hildegard Bechtler, lighting design by Johanna Town, and sound and video design by Emma Laxton.

Dodds previously appeared in New York in the National Actors Theatre’s production of School for Scandal on Broadway and has worked extensively in the West End. She starred in the Rachel Corrie at the Royal Court in London in 2005, and during its nine-week engagement earlier this year at the Playhouse Theatre in London’s West End.
