2012 Olympic gymnast Danell Leyva visited the Broadway production of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre on Thursday, August 23.

Following the performance, Leyva, a Bronze Medalist for his work in the Men’s All Around category, visited star Reeve Carney backstage and clowned around with the production’s ensemble of Spider-Men.

Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark is inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books. It follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.

The show features music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, direction by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Julie Taymor, and a book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
