Broadway veteran James Snyder (Cry-Baby) will join the previously announced Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent), LaChanze (The Color Purple), and Anthony Rapp (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Rent) in the upcoming Broadway premiere of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey’s new musical If/Then. Snyder will take on the role of Josh, a doctor and army reservist.

Michael Greif (Next to Normal) will direct this tale of a woman named Elizabeth (Menzel) who returns to New York City to give her life a fresh start. The romantic musical paints a picture of modern-day Manhattan and explores how “choice and chance collide.”

If/Then will be beginning previews at the Richard Rodgers Theatre March 4 (with an opening set for March 27). The new production will play an out-of-town engagement at Washington, DC’s National Theatre beginning November 5.
